Welcome to SMHS - "Home of the Cardinals!"

As reported by U. S. News and World Report....
"Congratulations on your high school's inclusion in the 2017 edition of "America's Best High Schools"!

Staples-Motley High School achieved a BRONZE status due to several factors:

  • Improvements in MCA Reading scores
  • Maintained excellence in Science MCA's
  • C.I.S (College in the Schools) Credits earned by our graduating class
  • Our Free and Reduced population showing large improvements within closing their achievement gap

"The recognition of making the "America's Best High School" list from U.S. News and World Report is reflective of the efforts of the students and staff working together.  Staples-Motley students excel in so many of their ventures.  It is rewarding to see them blending together in a recognition such as this.  Throughout the past few years, students' high school habits and citizenship have been something we've focused on.  Our test scores do matter.  The overall closings in our Achievement Gap remains a steady focus.  Our CIS offerings remain as impressive as they are diverse.

We are proud of Staples-Motley High Schools' Bronze achievement  and we are celebrating!  Banners have been ordered for the campus.  As we start a new school year, with Chromebooks in place, new curriculums, and a staff eager to teach and facilitate their learning and growth, a SILVER status may be awaiting!
